Semaglutide works by mimicking a naturally occurring hormone. As those hormone levels rise, the molecules go to your brain, telling it you're full. It also slows digestion by increasing the time it takes for food to leave the body.
We recommend going very slowly to increase the dose. For most clients who weigh less than 200 lbs, we don't recommend exceeding 1mg/week, because we hope to help you make other lifestyle changes so you won't depend only on the medicine.
All dosing will be personalized each week based on your lifestyle, diet, etc.
Semaglutide is a once-weekly injection that reduces cravings and appetite, leading to weight loss. It also helps regulate blood sugar and increases insulin secretion, boosting metabolic health. The FDA-approved products called Wegovy® and Ozempic® contain semaglutide as the active medical ingredient. It requires physician approval and supervision. Our clinic offers compounded Semaglutide in a custom blend containing B12. Our approach to weight loss involves personalized dosing, and in some cases micro-dosing to help each client find the right blend of using the product and also incorporating lifestyle changes.
Prescribing Process:
Compounded semaglutide/B12 combo or pure peptide semaglutide is prescribed based on a thorough medical consultation to ensure it meets the specific needs and preferences of each patient. Our products incorporate personalized dosing so the directions for dosing are provided directly to the patient.
Compounding Pharmacies and Pure Peptide Formulations:
Compounded medications are prepared by licensed pharmacists to meet individual patient needs. Any compounded semaglutide we prescribe to our clients is crafted following the highest standards of quality and safety, adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act under Section 503A for compounding pharmacies. Some of our suppliers make pure peptide formulations which allow for personalized dosing.
Regulatory considerations:
Compounded medications can help to address drug shortages and be more specific to patient needs. Compounded medications are not the same as FDA-approved medications. However our compounded medications are created in customized ways to have the best health benefits for our patients.
Please be aware that most formulations should be refrigerated, but some may be kept at room temperature. Ask your Nuvo Life team member if you have more questions.
